American Beauty Hazy Ripple IPA

American Beauty Hazy Ripple IPA

It’s been a long strange trip, and we’re not about to stop now. After six years and four releases of American Beauty, we’re back with an encore … only this time you haven’t heard the melody.

Together with the Grateful Dead, we’re proud to introduce our latest collaborative iteration – American Beauty Hazy Ripple IPA.

Inspired by the Grateful Dead’s beloved “American Beauty” album, American Beauty Hazy Ripple IPA is an unfiltered India Pale Ale brewed with spelt – an ancient heirloom grain that contributes a natural haze – that’s then dosed with a special yeast variety to accentuate hop aromatics.

The result is a psychedelic 7.0% ABV ale that’s bursting with notes of tropical fruit and juicy citrus, while the style callout lovingly references the fan-favorite track “Ripple.”

Hordeum Vulgarity

Hordeum Vulgarity

This big barley wine is a raucous celebration of barley malt - scientifically known as Hordeum vulgare. We mashed in heaps of British Maris Otter malt until the mash tun strained under the weight. Ignoring pleas for caution, we piled in even more, including bready dark Munich malts and caramelicious double-roasted crystal malt for a deep mahogany color and rowdy maltiness. To add just a hint of counterpoint to the full-on malt assault (and just to be fancy), we used classic British East Kent Golding hops in the kettle and whirlpool. After fermentation was complete, we laid it down for an 8-month slumber in Apple Brandy casks from our distilling brethren at Dogfish Head Distilling. At a heady 13.2% ABV, this one is a sipper. Rich layers of toffee, caramel and plum play with toasted vanilla and coconut. A dense, viscous mouthfeel feel gives way to a long, warm finish. It’s truly a vulgar display of malt.  Hordeum Vulgarity! Limited run of 300 bottles.

Rye Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA

Rye Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA

Rye Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA ... is this real life?! You better believe it!

We took the Holy Grail for hopheads - an India Pale Ale that's continuously hopped with a copious amount of high-alpha American hops - and aged it in rye barrels for a full six months. Then we spent a couple of weeks dry-hopping it for optimum goodness.

Eastern Seaboard

Eastern Seaboard

The third beer out of our ‘Wooden … it be nice!’ wild beer program, Eastern Seaboard is a wild ale aged on hand-picked blackberries & Eastern Shore beach plums. Available in our Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen starting on Saturday, December 8 at 11 a.m., we’ve only got 4,000 (375ml) bottles of this limited-edition brew up for grabs!

Ruby red in color, Eastern Seaboard is deceptively dry and bottle conditioned to achieve a champagne-like carbonation.
