The European Beer Star is Europe's largest beer competition ... and Midas Touch has captured Gold in the Specialty Honey category.

With 1,613 beers submitted and 42 countries represented, we couldn't be more proud!

Released in 1999, the year-round Midas Touch was our first swing at reviving ancient brewing traditions. The recipe is based on molecular evidence found in the Turkish tomb of King Midas and includes white Muscat grapes, saffron and – of course – honey!

Way to go, Midas!

Dogfish Head has worked closely with molecular archaeologist Dr. Patrick McGovern since then to bring ancient brewing history back to life. The resulting Ancient Ales transport modern beer connoisseurs to a time when brewers were unencumbered by purity laws, style rules and bottom lines.
