Dogfish Head x Howler Bros: A Capsule of Wearables in Celebration of 30 Off-Centered Years

Monday, June 23, 2025

June 23, 2025 is a big day for us here at Dogfish Head … it’s officially our 30th anniversary!! Yup … thirty years ago today Sam and Mariah unlocked the doors to our brewpub in Rehoboth Beach, Del., and the off-centered libations started flowing! In celebration of brewing since ‘95, we’re keeping the creation of goodness rolling with a co-branded line of special wearables crafted alongside our pals from Howler Bros. to release on our actual birthday.

Howler Bros. is one of our favorite brands in the world, and the alignment between their designs and company culture coincides rather seamlessly with ours here at Dogfish Head. From the punk rock originality of our concoctions to the indie spirit at our cores, Dogfish Head and Howler Bros. share a love of off-centeredness, originality and eluding the status quo. So, naturally, we were stoked when they agreed to put together a capsule of exclusive merch for our big day!

From a summer shirt to a polo to a terrycloth hoodie, this collection of wearables is available exclusively in our online shop at dogfish.com/shop, while supplies last!

Another string threading through the core of both of these brands is the massive influence music has had on our collective founders which flowed into both companies. Take Howler Bros. co-founders, Andy Stanton & Chase Bird, for instance. Before they were partners in apparel, they were rocking together in a band called the Wrinkled Neck Mules, taking their music from Virginia down to Atlanta and even had a song featured in a certain gecko’s insurance company commercial. While the band was playing together, Chase was approached to create t-shirts with his art and graphic designs which inspired him to work with Andy to make shirts of their own. This small project spiraled into something much bigger, and thus, Howler Bros. was born!

Andy still plays today, alongside Mason Brent, another Howler Bros. co-worker, in a group called Leon III. Andy describes music as “the central vain to Howler Bros. and how we view the brand and how we get inspired to do something else.”

On the flip side, while Sam was growing up in rural Massachusetts, he was tuning into radio stations from high schools and nearby colleges that exposed him to anything from African Bambaataa to the Smiths and Bad Brains. This wide universe of musical genres led Sam on a joint journey of falling in love with hip-hop and punk rock simultaneously, a juxtaposition of creations that laid the foundation of Dogfish Head’s business plan over 30 years ago. When the time came, Sam and the team took the whole ‘get in the van and do it’ mindset and just started creating, from our own gig posters for beer dinners to designing logos and merch to brewing the beer itself. Sam looked up to the likes of Sonic Youth, the Minute Men and the Beastie Boys as the business inspiration for Dogfish Head over traditional business leaders.

So, in the spirit of our shared unconditional love for music, we created a specially curated Spotify Playlist to celebrate the partnership of these two music-centric brands just in time for our 30th birthday! Give it a listen:

It’s been a whole lot of fun working with the Howler Bros. Team and we’re so excited for the pieces we were able to bring to life. Hop on over to dogfish.com/shop to get your hands on these exclusive items while you still can and here’s to 30 off-centered years!
