Tahkoku

Tahkoku is an American Nut Brown ale, brewed to welcome the changing of seasons as the summer winds down and the “harvest season” begins.  The Lenni Lenape, the tribe of Native Americans that originally inhabited the southern coast of the Delaware Bay up through PA, NJ, and Upstate NY, had a word for this time of the season - “tahkoku,” which literally translates to “autumn.”  Just like the name suggests, this ale has flavors and aromas reminiscent of the time of the year when the temperatures cool and the leaves start to turn.  Lush malty sweetness complimented by notes of chestnut and hazelnut layered with nuances of toffee, toasted bread, and coffee.  A touch of herbal hops mingles with the earthiness of the malt, finishing with a smooth creaminess.  This ale is a great pairing with the Woodgrilled Wings, Antelope Sliders, or any of our woodgrilled pizzas.

Due to limited availability our Brewpub Exclusive are not available in growlers.

Tahkoku will be tapped Friday, August 10th 2012 and will available until it is all gone.
