Social Science

Social Science is the beerfusion of an IPA and a Lager ... it's an IPL. This delicious liquid was brewed from a 50-50 blend of North American two-row barley and German malted spelt, an ancient form of European wheat that brings forth a soft mouthfeel and crisp dryness. During the whirlpool, it was hopped with two 'Old World' hop varieties – Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger – and two of their 'New World' cousins – Cascade and Pekko. It was later dry-hopped with the same combination of hops at an abundant 3.5 lbs. per barrel ... just like an uncouth 'more-is-better' American IPA. Lastly, we added some German restraint, fermenting this beer slow and cold with a German lager yeast.
