Sez One

Sez One is a farmhouse style Saison brewed to welcome the coming of spring and warmer days.  Saisons were traditionally brewed in the Wallonian region of Belgium on farms for the workers sustenance over the summer.  These beers are intentionally dry and quaffable to be easily consumed in the summer heat without being too filling and inebriating.  With that idea in mind, Sez One was brewed with all pilsner malt and generous amounts of Czech Saaz, Topaz from Australia, and Wakatu from New Zealand.  It was then fermented with traditional Saison yeast and dry hopped with additional Topaz and Wakatu.  Notes of tropical fruit and Sauvignon Blanc in the nose.  Mellow acidity in the flavor with subtle fruit, fresh cut grass, white grape and earthy spice, and rich doughy malt notes giving way to dry crisp bitterness.  Sez One will go best with lighter fair and seafood.

Sez One will be tapped on Friday, May 9, 2014 and will be available until it isn't.
