Make It - Take It

When you're making beer with 6'11" NBA All-Star Chris Bosh, you've got to go big or go home. Utilizing a state-of-the-art PicoBrew Zymatic homebrewing system, Sam and Chris brewed inside a stretch Hummer while driving around Los Angeles looking for ingredients inspired by Chris' love of Texas BBQ and his globe-trotting off-season adventures for episode two of That's Odd ... Let's Drink It! With a little help from Kevin Bludso of Bludso's BBQ, they discovered the magic of a pitmaster-to-brewmaster alley-oop.

Back on the east coast we've brought this super small batch to life at our Rehoboth Beach brewpub.

Make It - Take It* is a complex dry stout bringing the smoke and heat of an authentic Texas barbecue. A combination of mesquite smoked malt, a trifecta of roasted malts and flaked oats to provide a silky texture and roasty & smokey flavors. Bludso's brisket rub was added after fermentation to bring the earthy spiciness and just a little heat to the party.

*Make It - Take It is the beer formally known as Daddy Jack. While Chris Bosh named this beer after his grand-dad Jack, it's a name being used by another brewery. Not wanting to step on any toes (because we've been there), we happily renamed the beer Make It - Take It, an ode to Chris Bosh's NBA superstardom.
