Stout brewed with toasted garbanzo & fava beans, locust beans, coffee beans and vanilla beans.
Aw Beans! It's the versatile, clean curse-phrase you can use wherever. Come to think of it, beans can be pretty friggin' versatile, too. We decided to explore that for this rich stout. We brewed an ink-black stout with a mélange of roasted grains and naked oats. Then we piled in toasted garbanzo BEANS & fava BEANS for some nutty goodness and added roasted locust BEANS (aka carob) to bring in dense, earthy cacao flavors. After fermentation we aged it on sweet, whole Madagascar vanilla BEANS and roasty organic Nicaraguan honey arabica coffee BEANS from our friends at Rise Up Roasters. Dagnabbit, that's a lot of beans! The result is a rich beer with all the flavors of a barista-crafted café mocha: roasty coffee, decadent chocolate and a touch of rich vanilla. One sip and you'll say "Holy schnikes that's good!".
