We brew SMaSH (Single Malt and Single Hop) beers to evaluate individual malts and hop varieties as part of a our R&D process. This SMaSH beer was brewed as a West Coast IPA from a proprietary Pale Base Malt that was kilned for extra color and a richer, toastier flavor. It was then hopped with proprietary experimental HBC-567 hops in the brewhouse and was dryhopped at 2 lbs. per barrel to provide notes of mandarin orange, stone fruit and subtle pine.
