Out like a lion...

Old man winter seems to be hanging tough but things are getting back to normal after our pub renovations.  It's been about three weeks since we re-opened after a much needed overhaul.  We gussied up our wood floor, shored up the benches and did some bypass surgery on the plumbing and electric.  A little Botox was done but we’ll never tell where. If your favorite bartender looks a few inches shorter it is not because you had a 120 too many.  It is because we revamped the floor behind the bar and at our front entrance.  Check out the cool graphics when you walk in. Some of the changes may not be very noticeable, that was the plan.  A brand new Aztec wood grill in the kitchen is keeping your wood grilled grub wood grilled.  Our old grill is not done helping Dogfish Head create delicious treats.  It is going to be put to good use in the future but more on that later. New floors and GFI outlets aren’t the only new pub features.  We added a new draft box which allows us to have one more Dogfish Head Beer on tap bringing our total to a cool dozen.  We are still serving our nightly specials Monday, mmmmmmm Wood Grilled Prime Rib night to Thursday- Wood grilled pizza night.  There is Burger night on Tuesday and Fish and Chips on Wednesday.

Our music lineup is packed with original artists.   Last weekend we had Steve Poltz a singer, songwriter from California who has worked with and written songs for Jewel. We also had a great band from Pittsburgh; 28 North.  This 4 piece band played great, original rock and roll that had the pub jamming until close.  They will be back in May.  Coming up this Friday is Chester River Runoff, some of the best bluegrass around and Saturday is Da Rezarekt, hip hop jams from Philly.  Don’t miss the return of the Fleshtones on Friday March 13.  If you saw the last show they did at the pub you will definitely not want to miss this one.  If you missed it, this is your chance to see one of the best live shows to pack the pub.  Our Mardi gras beer dinner was a great finale to Mardi gras weekend in Rehoboth beach.  The gumbo cook-off had people lined up all afternoon to sample our authentic New Orleans style Gumbo.  A lot of money was raised by local restaurants for a worthy local cause.  Don’t miss this annual event.  We have 2 Beer dinners left. The March 15 dinner is five courses of cheese inspired dishes paired with a Dogfish Head Beer or spirit.  This event is sold out.  The April 19th Chocolate dinner may still have a few seats left but don’t wait too long to reserve a seat.

We have Cask ale at the pub.  This may be my favorite part of the new things happening at the pub.  We left some room behind the bar for a beer engine.  Bryan has been hard at work at the Milton Brewery getting ready the casks to fuel our beer engine.  We are tapping a cask of Bitter on Thursday night.  I can’t wait.  Hope to see you at the pub soon.Cheers-Jason
