FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 1, 2011

To announce the release of Tweason'ale, a gluten-free brew made with strawberries, sorghum and honey, Dogfish Head partnered with Cinemagraph artists Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg.

Cinemagraphs are images with isolated, moving parts, a marrying of still photography and video. From their website, "Starting in-camera, the artists take a traditional photograph and combine a living moment into the image through the isolated animation of multiple frames... Launched virally through social media platforms Twitter and Tumblr, both the style of imagery and terminology has become a class of its own. Jamie & Kevin are looking forward to exploring future display technologies for gallery settings as well as pushing this new art form and communication process as the best way to capture a moment in time or create a true living portrait in our digital age while embracing our need to communicate visually and share instantly."

"From the moment Jamie and Kevin contacted us about a potential project, we were hooked," explains Dogfish's Sam Calagione. "They are big fans of Dogfish, and it took only seeing a few of their images for us to reciprocate." The NYC-based duo traveled to Delaware in June 2011 for the Tweason'ale brew. "With the process of pressing the fresh berries, we know the Tweason'ale brew would be an amazing visual opportunity," continues Calagione, "what Jamie and Kevin were able to bring to the process with their Cinemagraphs just brings it to a whole new level."

The slideshow debuted on the New York Times' Diner's Journal, and is now available for your viewing pleasure right here on our website!

Tweason'ale will be tapped at our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub at noon on Friday, July 1st. Plans are to follow this first Brewpub Exclusive batch with another brewpub batch, then possibly move the Tweason'ale production to the Milton brewery for packaging later this year.
