#DFB2KC

Tuesday, September 02, 2014

Today I met a hardcore Dogfish evangelist named Skylar Wallace in Kansas City. Yes, the Kansas City in Missouri - where we don't yet sell Dogfish Head. I was in town for a Brewer's Association board meeting and my wife told me I would want to meet Skylar. You see, she told me that Skylar has tweeted #DFB2KC (as in "Dogfish Head Beer to Kansas City" for those who are confused by hashtags) for the past 777 days. He even posted that image up there at the top of the page. That is persistence!

Skylar is hoping that a tweet a day will convince Dogfish Head to begin selling in Kansas City, MO. As I told Skylar, we still aren't finished our work in getting Dogfish Head back on shelves in the four states we recently re-entered (yes, we hear you in Indiana and Tennessee!). Beyond completing that job, we don't have any additional states in the works until we can ensure that we can handle the 31 states where we now sell. Skylar understood, but I don't think it'll deter him from his #DFB2KC twitter campaign. I hope it doesn't.

But it does mean the world to us when people like Skylar are this passionate about our off-centered ales. So, I wanted to meet him, buy him a couple of pints and give him the Dogfish shirt off my back. Not literally. It was laundered. But I've definitely been wearing it for quite a few years. It was the only Dogfish shirt I had with me.

And in case you were wondering, that's Paul Gatza from the Brewers Association and Serena from Ladyface Brewery photo bombing us in the background.

Thanks Skylar - hopefully, I'll be back to Kansas City someday ... on a sales call!
