Calling all Dogfish Dashers! Tickets on sale for 8K race (yes, 8K!) on April 1

Sunday, March 29, 2015

We’re celebrating a very special Dogfish Dash this year by smooshing the 5K and the 10K races together and holding a single 8K race.

That’s right … an 8K race (that’s 4.97 miles) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Dash, the 20th anniversary of Dogfish Head, and the 25th anniversary of the Delaware chapter of The Nature Conservancy, the race's main beneficiary.

“It’s an off-centered distance,” says Dogfish Head Beer & Benevolence guru Mark Carter. “We’re mixing it up a little to celebrate a decade of the Dash.”

Registration for the Dash starts at 12 noon EST on April 1 at dogfishdash.dogfish.com. We’re opening the race up to a record 2,250 runners, but IT WILL SELL OUT QUICKLY. The spots will be filled first-come, first serve, so be ready and be swift.

The Dash will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, in Milton, Del., and the entry fee is $40. Each runner will get a Chico bag, a commemorative stainless steel pint glass, a reusable BPA-free water bottle (no bottled water will be available), an organic cotton T-shirt, post-race beers and light breakfast fare.

We’ll also have some live music and a recycled costume contest. The most creative costumes made of recycled stuff will earn prizes for the top three teams and the top male individual and top female individual.

And if you’d like to avoid the madness of Dash registration and support the Delaware chapter of The Nature Conservancy in a big way, visit dogfishinn.com starting today for the Dogfish Dash Race Weekend Package. For each booking, a donation will be made to the Conservancy, and guests will get:

  • * Two-night stay at the Dogfish Inn (Check in 9/25, check out 9/27)
  • * Entry to the Dogfish Dash (2 per king room, 4 per queen room. Entrants must be staying at the inn).
  • * Friday night campfire session with friends from Dogfish Head and the Delaware Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
  • * Race packet and goodie bag delivered to room.
  • * Dogfish Head pint glasses for inn guests.
  • * Transportation to and from the Dash. (Don’t worry, we’ll take care of late checkout on Sunday.)
  • * One-year subscription to The Nature Conservancy’s award-winning quarterly “Nature.”

All that is included in the room rate. UPDATE: Rooms are fully booked- thanks for the support!

Over the years, you all have raised $275,000 for the fine folks at The Nature Conservancy, and we can’t wait to cut them a big ol’ check at the end of this year’s Dash.

Now, it’s time to break out those running shoes and plan to join the 2,000+ runners and 125 volunteers at the 2015 Dogfish Dash!

See you in September!
