10-year old 120 Minute IPA

Holy crap. At our event last night in San Diego, Tom Nickel of O'Brien's Pub busted out a one decade old bottle of 120 Minute IPA.

An oldie, but goodie.

An oldie, but goodie.

It was probably the best 120 Minute I have had in my life.  Another guy smuggled In a 6 year old Fort that was the best Fort I have ever have.

I think the beers we do over 10-percent like World Wide Stout, Palo Santo Marron, Olde School Barleywine, 120 Minute IPA, and Fort are good fresh but become so great with a few years age on them. Aging is completely subjective and here are some more thoughts on aging beers.

A new batch of World Wide Stout comes out later this month.  If you find some I recommend buying a couple bottles. One to try young and one to age for 5 or so years.  Then, in 5 or so years buy two more new ones.  Try one with a friend side by side with the 5 year old bottle you aged.  So so different.  And so very easy to play along at home.
