It was a bright, sunny Delaware day when we partnered with 302 Horseshoe Crab last spring to host their annual 302 Day event for the first time at our Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen. As an homage to the 302 area code of our slight but mighty First State, 302 Day is all about celebrating the goodness of Delaware. With a day full of Delaware-centric eats, treats and festivities, we celebrated our home state the best way we know how, and through our Beer & Benevolence program, event attendees helped raise over $4,000 on event day to give back to the Friends of Delaware State Parks.

We loved hosting 302 Day and we're thrilled to have added it to our lineup of annual happenings here at Dogfish Head, with 2023 plans already in the works. But before we look ahead to next year's festivities, we're taking a moment to celebrate some news we received just this week ... 302 Day has been awarded “Southern Delaware Tourism’s 2022 Best Event”!

The “Best Event” award is presented annually by Southern Delaware Tourism to an event held in Sussex County. The winning event is chosen based upon visitation, draw, uniqueness, out-of-area promotion and the ways in which it spotlights our county as a tourism destination, and we couldn't be more Dela-proud of 302 Day!

With the announcement of this exciting news, we wanted to make sure that our neighbors and friends had our 2023 302 Day festivities marked on their calendars!

Thursday, Mar 2 – Beer Release

In honor of this year’s event, we will be partnering with 302 Horseshoe Crab to create a special Delaware-inspired beer. We’ll be debuting this new brew with a fun chat on Thursday, Mar. 2 at our R&D Bar in Milton. Join 302 Horseshoe Crab founders Keith Mosher & Karlin Maull, Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione, and Dogfish Head Brewing Manager Bryan Selders, to hear all about the inspiration behind the beer.

Saturday, Mar 4 – 302 Day Celebration

On Saturday, Mar. 4, grab your 302 gear and a whole lotta Delaware pride and head to Dogfish Head’s Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen for our 2023 302 Day Celebration! Join us, alongside 302 Horseshoe Crab and the Friends of Delaware State Parks, for local libations, Delaware eats, live music and LOTS of 302 merch.
