A brown ale, a bit deeper shade of red than our Raison D'Etre, gently nudged to 7% a.b.v. with beet sugars. Sparingly hopped with Warrior and Liberty hops. The grains we used in the mash include Pils, Wheat, Munich, Coffee, and Crystal.
But it's the 'grain' we add post-fermentation that makes this beer so special!
We started this brew day surfing the Delaware coast with our friends from Maine's own Grain Surfboards. They use sustainably harvested Maine-grown cedar to shape their boards, and we used it to add pungently, resiny, herbal notes to the finished beer.
This beer went on tap 6/30/2010... will be available until it is gone!
