Yesterday, In headed up to Philadelphia to meet up with Colonial brewing expert Rich Wagner. He and I brewed a spruce and molasses beer together on his traditional period brewing equipment. We had a blast!

Then we went to City Tavern, where our founding fathers fermented the American Revolution over tankards of ale. We had turkey pot pie and pepper soup paired with Yard's Brewery's revolutionary beers. Yum.

I especially enjoyed the spicy soup paired with Curious George Washington's porter.
