Join Sam for a few beers and help save a Maine treasure!

Wednesday, July 09, 2014

From 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, Boothbay Harbor Country Club and Dogfish Head are hosting a public fundraiser to support the restoration of the Cuckolds Lighthouse in Southport, Maine.

Since 2006, when the deteriorating century-old lighthouse was slated for destruction, local residents with an appreciation of the island’s historic, economic and symbolic value have stepped up to rescue the Cuckolds.

So far, the Cuckolds Lighthouse Council has raised $2.7 million, and they’re hoping to raise an additional $850,000. That’s where Wednesday’s Cuckold Fundraiser Happy Hour comes in.

Anyone who makes a pledge of at least $25 on Wednesday will get a Dogfish Head hat and pint glass.

The Happy Hour, open to the public, will include live music. You’ll get to enjoy 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, Sixty-One, Indian Brown Ale, Festina Peche and Namaste with founder Sam Calagione and a few of his co-workers. Also, appetizers are available, and dinner is served from 5 to 9 p.m. for anyone who wants to enjoy a meal afterward.

So come on out (no tickets necessary), drink some Dogfish Head beer, and help restore the Cuckolds Lighthouse!
