Big Happenings - Bitches Brew & Sculpture Install

Lots of fun stuff going on here at Dogfish today!

First off - we're brewing the big batch of Bitches Brew, our beer inspired Miles Davis' 1970 paradigm-shifting landmark fusion breakthrough. The test batch has been very well recieved at our brewpub and at SAVOR! That said, we're making some tweaks.

Our Brewmaster Floris explained that while we loved the aroma and aftertaste of the test batch, we weren't all that psyched with the depth in the middle of the beer. So, on this big batch we're changed up the malt ratios (adding some more caramel malt and base malt). We've also switched to a Tanzanian honey with a richer, deeper sweetness.

Today's brewing schedule includes all four threads of the Bitches Brew - we started with a stout thread, then will brew the t'ej thread, then followed by the last two stout threads.

Today's batches will be bottled and distributed for release at the end of August. For the latest on Bitches Brew, the beer and the album - check out the offical Bitches Brew website!

In addition to the Bitches Brew today, we're just beginning the installation of a cool, funky piece of functional sculpture in front of the brewery. The pad is ready...

We'll post more on the sculpture as it arises over the next two weeks!
