Bed Burglar

This is a well balanced amber colored ale with a clean hoppy finish. The malt bill included some Munich malt to add a nice bready flavor as well as some Crystal malt for a touch of sweetness (not too sweet!) and a pinch of Carafa III for color.

Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand give the beer a unique, fruity (almost grapelike) aroma and flavor. Southern Cross hops (also from NZ) provide just enough bitterness to balance the complex malt profile. We chose Chico yeast to keep the beer fairly dry (not icky!) and to give us some subtle fruity esters while letting the other ingredients shine through.

This was a truly collaborative effort with Head Brewer Bryan and pub manager Matt P. creating the recipe, and ktichen crewmembers Matt S. and JB helping on brew day.

The name is a reference to Matt P's tendency to commandeer other peoples beds after a few beers at the GABF.

This beer will pair nicely with a juicy wood grilled burger.

Bed Burglar goes on tap the week of 10/11/2010 and will be available until it is all gone!

Due to limited availability, our Brewpub Exclusive beers are not available in growlers.
