Through the summer of 2013, we'll be releasing four batches of Delaware Native Ale. We'll start each with the same Saison base recipe, then add a different seasonal fruit from our friends at Fifer Orchards just up the road in Kent County, Del., and a unique locally grown herb or spice. We'll also include local wildflower honey from Bee Natural in Smyrna, Del., and ferment with our DNA Yeast, the State Yeast of Delaware.
This batch was made with fresh strawberries – more than 25 pounds per barrel – and lavender grown and provided by Lavender Farms in Milton, Del. Just in time for the heat of summer, this batch of DNA celebrates our local agricultural community in truly refreshing style.
