Sam & Dogfish Featured On The Today Show

Type: Press Release

Start Date: 6/12/2008

Location: New York, NY

6/12/08

Sam Calagione (Dogfish Head's found and President) and co-author Marnie Old appeared on the Today Show today and talked about the pairing beer and wine with food.

The authors released "He Said Beer, She Said Wine" earlier this year. The book is a fun back and forth discussion between Sam and Marnie about pairing beer and wine with food. Sam, of course, pushes beer and Marnie tries in vain to pitch the merits of wine!

Sam and Marnie presented hosts Kathi Lee Gifford Hoda Kotb with a Gruyere Reserve cheese paired with New Belgium’s Mothership Wit and a 5-year old Dogfish Head World Wide Stout with Askinosie artisanal Chocolate. Both hosts enjoyed the beer more than they thought they would!

Sam even managed to make Kathie Lee blush..  when arguing that beer is more complex than wine because it has more raw ingredients than wine, he likened wine to having a sex life that consisted of only one position.

And it's a small world, while prepping for their appearance on the show, Sam learned that both Kathie Lee and Hoda have family summer homes in Rehoboth Beach, DE! - maybe they'll visit us at our brewpub next time they are in town!

Sam and Marnie's book is available for sale here (click now!) or at most major booksellers.
