In between tastings, children can explore the interactive exhibits at the museum, and on the StoryBus, a traveling children's museum that will be parked outside for the evening. Legendary children's musician Ella Jenkins will also perform at the event, as will Miss Lori, host of the PBS Kid's. Food journalist David C. Hammond will join Miss Lori
in hosting the event. Night of a Thousand Clean Plates is a fund-raiser for the StoryBus, a children's museum on wheels that visits low-income pre-k and kindergarten students throughout Chicagoland. According to a 2005
study by Crain's, fewer than 2% of families in low-income neighborhoods go to the city's arts institutions. So we bring the art institution to the families!
