I've gotta say...this was my first DFH beer. Just tonight in fact. I've had other coffee beers which tasted like crap...but this one...wow. The coffee flavor is so full and accents the rest of the beer perfectly. This is truly a beer made by someone who cares about their product. I will continue to support DFH after this fulfilling enlightenment. Thank you for taking pride in your beer.

this newest batch of Chicory Stout (11.17.10) is fantastic. I've loved the beer for a few years now - maybe it's because I haven't had one in about 10-12 months but DAMN - such a fine brew.
so tasty.....
By the way...I'm from Iowa and so DFH is very limited here. I had heard about them a while ago and was trying to find ways to buy it online, which were expensive. Thankfully I finally found it, and it is amazing.
Sorry to hear that DFH it is hard to find in Iowa, to be honest I feel for you they make some awesome brews my man, if you liked the Chicory Stout you have good taste, but that is only the beggining!, wait til you try Palo Santo Marron! WOW!!!, you will love it! very full bodied, Warning they are strong, really butt kickers, I recommend only 2 drink slow and savor!, also the Raison D'Etre, is awesome, all their brews are outsanding, you cant go wrong, hope you find um!
I am definitely hoping they continue to grow...I would love to see all the DFH variety in stores here. If it wasn't so expensive to buy online, I would be doing that from now on...but when I checked it was close to $30 for a 4-pack. Thanks for the beer suggestions too...If I see them around I will be sure to pick them up!
It's the nature of the beast. I'm in Maryland and can find most DFH ales but even have trouble myself sometimes due to supply and demand. The stores where they are carried told me that the distributors only get so much and have to divy it up among the retailers that want it. The 4-packs retail from $12,99-$15.99 so I can understand why they sell for $30. It seems like the best thing to do would be to find someone who can find it without a lot of trouble and combine shipping for you with a marginal mark up. I was happy to find a retailer nearby that had just about everything that is currently available (including bottles of Fort)...some I have not even seen at retail. The only downside was they were a bit pricey compared to other retailers so I limited my purchases to items I couldn't find elsewhere. I have also purchased online. I try to buy a couple at a time (on the limited releases) one to enjoy now and one to enjoy later. I don't think they will become more available until they expand the brewery since they are already running at full capacity.
