Easy Beer Bread

 

I have seen some wonderful beer bread ideas on this forum, however I have to say everyone is making it much harder than it really needs to be. Beer Bread (which is designed to be cheap and easy) served with a chili based with beer and a glass of cold beer is easy and doesn't require boiling or adding water, etc. The simple receipe my family has used for generations is as follows.... 3 cups self rising flour 5 Tablespoons of sugar Mix and add your favorite 12 oz of beer at room temp. The batter will be thick (it is supposed to be) Place in a greased bread pan (not glass) and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Pour 1/2 stick of butter (real butter) over the top. Continue baking for 15-30 minutes or until golden brown. We like it with chili or toasted with butter. Enjoy.
