I just picked up a bottle of Robert Johnson's Hellhound On My Ale and I was wondering if this would be a good candidate to age.
On a few other Dogfish Head brews, I've seen part of the description on the label say something along the lines of, "This one ages with the best of 'em," but this does not appear on this bottle.
While I know it is 10% ABV, which should make it a good candidate for aging (@ least in general), it also talks about how it has a strong hop flavor from being, "dry-hopped with 100% centennail hops at a rate of 100 kilos per 100 barrel brew-length," and the fact that it is also flavored with, "dried lemon peel and flesh." I've read that the hop flavor of beers will fade w/ aging, as well as that beers w/ fresh ingredients and/or fruits & citrusy flavors, i.e., lemons, are better to be enjoyed fresh, as opposed to aging them.
So, I'm looking for recommendations on Hellbound...to age or not to age, that is the question, thank you!

There's only one way to find out, T, and I think you know what that is.
In this case, we'd recommend capitalizing on the freshness of the hops and lemons, but everyone's tastes are different.
Cheers!
Cool, thanks for the response!
