Greetings from Panama,

Im a big fan of the show, I've been curious about brewing beer for a long long time, but there is an issue in the tropics for traditional beer recipes, hobs do not grow here, and pellets are somewhat hard to come by for regular folks as myself. This said, in your experience what would be a good substitute for hobs that grows in the tropics, for a beginner brewer?

I've enjoyed a lot the Chicha episode in TLC, we also have a chicha drink in Panama from our natives, but is somewhat different from the Peru version.

Thanks for any help!

Hmm. That's a tough one. Your best bet is to order some hops online. There are plenty of reputable homebrew shops and sites that offer hops of all varieties.

That said, we've heard of folks using bee balm, alfalfa pellets, rosemary, spruce and heather.

Best of luck!
