The show is great as a documentary. I love seeing all about the beer and the creation. As a drama, it is getting really annoying. "Oh no, the bottler is jammed", "Oh no, we may need to dump millions of dollars in beer". I understand there are a lot of thing you need to do to run a business, I just don't need to hear it so dramatized.
Just talk about the beer.

If it's about bier I enjoy it... Yes a shame if it doesn't get another run, very disappointing that shows like Pawn Stars or Ice Truckers dominate networks that use to promote edjucational programing by the way.

I've been drinking Dogfish for a few years but didn't know anything about Sam and how he runs the business. The best thing about the show is seeing how passionate Sam is about following his muse. It's great to see someone who's successful doing what they enjoy most....providing us with delicious liquid refreshment!

This show is extraordinary. As a beer lover I have found the shows to be amazingly educational and the whole crew at Dogfish Head fun to follow as they go about their craft. More importantly, I believe the show is a tremendous support to the craft brewing industry. I am confident many more will eagerly join our community of beer lovers as Sam leads his viewers through the joys of brewing and drinking great beer!
Unfortunately it looks like there are no more episodes in the works. It is a shame because i think that there is so much potential. From what I have found on my "research" is that there could possibly be one more episode coming down the pipeline, but after that 6th show, that is all.
If they were to be able to be picked up for a full season, I'd love to see it coordinate with the release of the beer that they are making. I know that is tough, but I tried to find some Punkin Ale after the episode released, but it had been of the market for about a month.
I disagree. They are trying to appeal to as many people as possible so they need to do more than talk about beer creation. I really like the show and hope it gets a second season. Discovery channel is a business and its all about ratings to them. So the broader they make the show, the more people will watch. Even if they took out the traveling to other countries aspect, I'd still love it. Watching their day to day interaction and the making of their normal beers would be worth the watch. Sam, Floris and Brian have great camera presence and are very witty.

The Drama does seem to be a little over done, but really the worst part of the show is I can't get Dogfish head beer anymore, it gets sold as soon as it's put on the shelf here in central washington state, I've been having a friendly clerk at the local beer shop hold 6 packs of 90 minute for me, and any other beers from them are sold right away, it was never this hard to get before, it seems the beers have been discovered by the other locals.
I'm with you here in mid Oregon, I have to take long road trips to find them only to be afraid of drinking them in fear of not finding them again.
