Brew day went well. Was my first go at an all grain (as opposed to the extract kits). Looks like my abv is gonna be a little lighter than the 9-10% the specs called for but I'm hoping for a good beer just the same. Gonna bottle this weekend. In another 2 weeks it should be good to go!
thats awesome glad your brew day went smooth. like i said I have been reading and getting all the info on home brewing once some money gets right I'm going to start with the extract and work my way up to all grain. just learning about it is fun cant wait to start making good beer.
That's cool Hophead. Yea I look forward to hearing about your start. I haven't been brewing all that long but dang I love it!
I just finshed a good read. I wish I had it in paperback but it's electronic. Otherwise I'd send it to you. It's "How to Brew" by John Palmer. You might be able to find it used on Amazon. Anyway, it has all the detail in the world but it mixes with a good combo of the basics. I picked up a lot from reading it and will use a lot of what I learned in my next batch.
That said, my 90 minute clone turned into a pretty decent copy of the 60 minute (which I do love). It's amazing that the temp of my mash seemed to make the different.
how did your brew day go? i want to start home brewing so bad. once the little guy gets here and we get money straight i think i will beable to start.
