Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is seeking an off-centered, safety oriented, mechanically inclined and experienced packaging tech to join our wonderful Packaging Team! Under general supervision of the Packaging Supervisor, you will keep the good stuff flowing into bottles, cases and kegs, through the efficient coordination of equipment, materials, and beer. You'll operate all of the packaging and kegging equipment, as well as stack, prepare and coordinate the delivery of our yummy finished beer to the warehouse. You will perform cleaning and sanitation efforts to ensure the packaging line is always ready for action. You will help the team achieve quality benchmarks through the completion of various quality line initiatives. You'll be in tune with the equipment to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting as needed or provide quick notification to the Packaging Mechanic for other significant line stoppages or various during-run concerns in order to get equipment back up and running.
The qualified candidate will have a minimum high school diploma or the equivalent. Coursework or certification in a mechanical/technical trade is preferred. A minimum of five years of machine operation experience in a production environment required; mechanical and/or electrical skills/experience required. Bottling line/high-speed filling operation experience preferred. Forklift certification or experience is a plus; ability to become Dogfish Head forklift certified is required. Basic computing skills required; familiarity with MS Office products a plus. You must be dependable, reliable and have a great team-ethic. You should have a strong focus on quality, safety and efficiency. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver 200 pound kegs easily throughout course of the entire shift. Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders and stand/walk on a continual basis.
