So when we moved into our Milton, DE building back in 2002, one of the first things we did was post a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson about non-conformity on the wall. Many of you who paid us a visit in the 2002-2009 time frame stood under the quote at the Tasting Room bar.
As you may have seen in the show 'Brew Masters,' Sam sorta views this as our long-form mission statement. Here is the quote as it appeared on our wall...
Well, a recent cellars expansion smack dab in the middle of our brewery meant the wall had to go. It came down in the summer of 2010 to make room for fermenting tanks.
We were without a physical representation of our guiding principal until just recently. thanks to artist Cecily Cowburn, her fiance Bengt Anderson and our own Graphics Guru Dave Kammerdeiner the Emerson quote is back on the wall here at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, DE!
It's back....
While the quote is the long-vision of our company mission statement, we did distill it down to a memorable short-form version, 'Off-centered ales for off-centered people.'
