75 Minute IPA, What The Heck Is It???

We've had quite a few questions about the availability of our 75 Minute IPA casks since our Simul-Cask event last month. Here is what we we can tell you...

First off, in it's most basic form 75 Minute IPA is simply a blend of our 60 Minute IPA and our 90 Minute IPA. Some accounts which have both beers on tap have been serving the 75 Minute IPA blend for quite some time now. You can even make your own - just get both beers and blend away!

So what's different about the cask version? The cask version of 75 Minute IPA takes the concept to the next level! To create the cask version, we retrofitted a 15-bbl tank at the Milton brewery (we've named the tank Johnny Cask) to perfectly produce this blend. The cask-version of 75 Minute gets a special whole-leaf dry-hopping session in this tank, then gets transferred to firkins and dosed with fresh yeast and maple syrup from the ole family homestead (Red Brook Farm in western Mass.).

Finally, the most frequently asked question... "Where can I enjoy the cask version of 75 Minute IPA?" Well, initially we're starting our cask program small, with accounts in Philly, New York, Massachusetts and our own brewpub in downtown Rehoboth Beach, DE. Once we work out the kinks (casks require a whole lotta handling love and we require the empty fikrins get sent back to us for re-fills), we may roll them out to additional markets in the next year or so. In the meantime, our brewpub plans to tap a cask each and every Thursday at 4:30pm. Most weeks it'll be 75 Minute IPA, but every now and then we'll throw in some random styles to keep things interesting!

Cabin Fever gotten you down lately?
We have plenty of reason to bust outta the house and head on over to the brewery! Visit Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, DE and be the first to pick up some Aprihop, Burton Baton, and the Wrath of Pecan over the next few Saturdays......

Pale India AleBryan Selders (Dogfish Lead Brewer) and Sam Calagione (Dogfish founder) brewed this beer with funky Indian spices donated by our pal Pete and his friends. Pete is the man responsible for Pete's Wicked Ale and turning so many folks on to craft beer back in the day....
