fav beers - Palo Santo Marron, Red & White, Indian Brown, 60 Minute and what ever new/seasonal came out this week. Fav pub meals - woodgrilled pizzas - the canary for one and seachange in particular, and the grassfeed beef from my family farm when it is available. Fav dogfish events - intergalactic bocce tournaments, off-centered film fest, Extreme Beer Fest, Off-centered Film Fest, and Dogfish Dash.
How do you define off-centered?
I defined off-centered as - defining goodness for yourself instead of letting the market, media, society, etc define goodness for you.
After a fantastic time at Savor in Washington DC, I am on the road this morning to head up to Philly Beer Week. Other than American Craft Beer Week, Philly Beer Week is the granddaddy of them all. Check
Teo (Baladin Brewery, Turin, Italy), Leo (Birra del Borgo, Rome, Italy), and I hosted a lunch on the new rooftop brewpub Birreria at Eataly NYC today. My favorite pairing was the blood sausage with cask conditioned Eataly brown ale.
New brew day on the roof here at the Eataly NYC Birreria. Teo, Leo , and I perused the Eataly store aisles this morning. An ingredient-inspiration walk about. We've decided to do a 7% abv amber ale with ugli fruit, fresh grated Ginger, and Two kinds of Italian honey.
So last night was the super-double- secret opening of Birreria, the rooftop brewery at Eataly NYC. My brew-buddies Leo and Teo flew in from Rome and Turin respectively. We met on the rooftop and the first thing we celebrated was Teo's prescient design prowess.
Last Night I took my children to a Robert Mapplethorp show opening at Sean Kelly Gallery in NYC. It was a really cool concept where 50 people from 50 states got to flip through a library of over 2000 images to each choose one.
Hello fellow craft-beer-loving-type people. Things are really chugging along here at Dogfish as we install four new 600 bbl bright tanks, two new 600 hundred barrel fermenters, and a sweet new mill that takes our daily brewing capacity from 700 barrels to 900 barrels.
