The last day of my Italy trip is winding toward a close as I head back to Rome, then back home to Delaware. I had an awesome time in Florence meeting with my friends Mauro and Michelle who own the design company Studio Lipparini.

I'm on a train. I'm on a mutha cussin train... heading to New York City where the film 'Beer Wars' will be screened as part of NYC Food & Film fest tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing Anat, who made the film.

I was up in NYC working on our Bitches Brew project today. Got to hang with Miles' nephew Vince and DJ Logic at the studio where they are working on remixes of a few of the songs from the album. Both awesome guys.

On Monday we had a meeting on the site of the new Eataly in New York City. Mike from JVNW - the folks who are building our 3.5 bbl brewhouse and 7 bbl unitanks - came in from the west coast.

Yesterday, In headed up to Philadelphia to meet up with Colonial brewing expert Rich Wagner. He and I brewed a spruce and molasses beer together on his traditional period brewing equipment. We had a blast!

I had a great lunch at our Rehoboth pub yesterday with Bill Covaleski from Victory Brewery.  I was glad to hear how much Victory is growing and to catch up with an old friend – Bill is one of the true gentleman-philosopher-brewers of our industry.

I'm getting pumped for a New England events/vacation roadtrip at the end of this week. Mariah, Sammy, Grier and I will be heading north in the family truckster this Friday. Trip highlights include hanging
