We're hosting the 2nd annual Delaware Restaurant Association's Beer, Bocce & BBQ here at the Milton brewery this afternoon. It's a benefit for the Delaware Restaurant Association and the winning team wins a cash prize to be donated to their non-profit of choice! We have teams from 20 local restaurants playing and many of them have been talking smack since last year's inaugural event - so it is sure to be a fun time! A few of our restaurant friends will also be bringing food to fuel the teams. Sponsors include Bethany Blues BBQ, Striper Bites (and their fab oysters) and Grotto Pizza.
Today's tourney is a warm-up of sorts for our crew, since Sam and a few of our other co-workers are heading west later this week for our 6th annual Intergalactic Bocce Tourney (western version). This year's western tournament is in San Diego and features a guest brewery - The Bruery (who Sam will be also be brewing with on this trip). There should be plenty of fun and lots of fantastic team costumes (some of them may even be appropriate enough for photo posting!). As part of the prize package, the winner of the western tourney wins team admission to our east coast tourney held here at the brewery every fall. Details on that one coming soon!
