So, this is my first official blog post. For the past year or so (or actually 15), I've been in the background of virtual Dogfish gently pressuring my co-workers to blog for you here on the ole Blogfish page. It's not that they didn't want to, mind you, it's just we're all having so much fun doing our jobs!
That said, my job here at Dogfish is to talk with all of you!!! I do so through quite a few avenues.
First off (even though it is technically talking 'to' you, not 'with' you), I orchestrate the limited amount of advertising we do (it's 100% in local-local publications and the beer-focused mags/papers - and not even all of them since the number of beer pubs has exploded recently - that's a good thing!).
Secondly, I create our web content you find here at www.dogfish.com. I add new Brewpub Exclsuive beers, write up News Releases, make sure all the Events our sales team and wholesale partners are doing get posted, or keeping an eye on the Forums (which I don't do a very good job of - sorry!), update our Weekly Specials and What's On Tap pages for the brewpub, etc...
I have tons of fun talking with many of your on our Facebook and Twitter. Thanks to those that follow along as I share 140 character glimpses into our world.
So, now I have a new channel (oh yeah, I manage the Dogfish Head YouTube channel too) - the blog! Gosh, I hope you don't get sick of me....
I'll blog about stuff going on here in Dogfish-land.. the brewery, the pub, what we have in mind, what we wish we could do, that kind of thing.
Speaking of things we wish we could do (and did!) - the Steampunk Treehouse is in full effect this week at Dogfish (read the full release here)!

This is a project long in the works. We can all hardly believe it is finally happening. As of today, the TreeHouse is up! We're still waiting on the steps and the limbs, but the guys have been hard at work installing all the special, ultra-cool features inside the Treehouse (or so they say... they won't let any of us in until Friday).
We're looking foward to holing up with our co-workers in the TreeHouse for some major brainstorming sessions. Hmmm, I wonder what new ideas we'll come up with...
Maria, first of all, my girlfriend and I really enjoy the beer you all brew up there. Despite living 3.5 hours away, we really enjoy our visits to the brewpub (one of your bartenders knows us by name). We leave a perfectly good beach (VA Beach) to drive to Rehoboth just to visit Dogfish Head.
Not too long ago we were fortunate to have Sam as our brewery tour guide. I might be getting our tours mixed up but I remember looking at the plans for the brewery expansion. I think it included a café of some sort. I haven’t heard anything about the expansion recently but it looks like it’s progressing nicely in the background of the tree house photos. Could you please give us an update? We’d like to plan a visit to coincide with the opening of the new expansion. Thanks!Dean
Glad you decided to start blogging, Mariah! I always enjoy your tweets and the information on Facebook (as well as chatting with other fans, I'm afraid I've become a DFH FB stalker! lol). Always enjoy reading everyone's blog entries as well. Such a wonderful place to work, seems like a big family.
Can't wait to see the treehouse next time we're up. And, try the newest brewpub release! Sounds like it's going to be a good one (aren't they all?). Well, my hubs will try...the newest addition is due to arrive Christmas Eve. You guys better have some awesome summer beers on the docket for next year, cause with 2 children, I'm REALLY going to be ready. Take care, and I look forward to the next entry!
Hi Mariah
I can't wait to get back and see the treehouse finished too. I was there and did the tour 6-18 and brought a first-timer along and I talked to the electrician who was wiring the base. We had a great time like I always have at your facility, we were at the brewpub twice and like always met new and interesting folks. Little wonder why your place in Rehoboth is my favorite bar, hands down. I'll be back again for an extended 4th of July weekend and I'm bringing two more first time tourers along. Gotta spread the word.
Cheers, Gary Bergman
Hey Mariah - the more ways to get out news from the brewery, the better! My wife and I are coming down with 9 friends this Friday and are renting a house in the area. We have previously been down to the brewpub and brewery but have never been down for a whole week. Besides the ribbon cutting for the treehouse, are there other exciting Dogfish events we should plan on attending? If so, please let us know. Can't wait to be down there and on vacation...
Thanks,
Mike
PS - Saw Sam at an event in NYC last night. Great times, great beers as always!
