Earth-friendly merchandise from Dogfish

share the love

We like earth... its currently the only planet where you can get Dogfish beers, so wed like it to stick around a while. That being said, we are trying now more than ever for our merchandise to be greener. Here are a few items that top the list:

Our bottle koozies are made from wetsuitsstraight re-use: they are sanitized, cut up and re-sewn into friendly little snuggies for your beer.

Beer label note pads: these labels would otherwise get recycled (which is great but takes energy to transport and process), but we make them into nice, thick note pads on which to scratch down all your ingenious ideas.

Bamboo tees: both mens and womens. Bamboo is one of the most renewable resources on the planet, and its naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial. Win-win!

Shopping bags made from recycled pop bottles, and all three of our tin tacker signs are made from 97% recycled material!

Organic cotton tees: Pimp tee, Classic green, Ghetto tee, gals long-sleeve , Life and Limb (both mens and womens), Hops tee, Johnny Cask, and Vodka tee.

Made in the US to cut down on transport: shark bottle openers, wooden signs, bocce tees, long sleeve black tees, 60 Minute Henley tees, soap, shampoo, dog biscuits, Gelaskins, bike jerseys, and bike socks. (Oh, and dog leashes and collars are from Canadaclose enough, eh?)

And coming soon: Dogfish Frisbees100% recycled!

So, bit by bit... we're gettin' there! Happy Earth Day to you and yours from all of us Dogfish Head.

I'm a collector of Bar, Beer and Ale glasses.  Do you have any "For Sale", and what is the price?

What if your bottles where made from corn? You could replace glass with bio plastic bottles made from starch based polymer. This would make a 100% green product, cut down on shipping weight, and allow people to take your beer into locations where glass isn’t allowed.

Fine idea Ladd!

I've seen plenty of 'plastic' cups made of corn. In fact, the 1st Rothbury Festival had volunteers camped all over the grounds helping people choose which bin to dispose of their items. Trash. Recycle. Compost.

All of the forks, knives, spoons, beverage cups, food-to-go clear containers were corn for the 'compost' cans... it boggled ALOT of minds that weekend.

However, the corn products were replacing PLASTIC...

The corn 'bottles' would not be too 'preiswert'...6 packs would be considerably more expensive for the time being anyway. Glass, while by no means a perfect product... is still the best - taste wise - to drink from and at least it is reusable and made from sand. Eventually it does return to the Earth....unlike plastic.

Unfortunately, (most of the time) it seems 'round here anyway, the 'no glass' rule usually accompanies the 'no alcohol' from outside rule.

For starters - I could see DFH maybe giving out corn cups with the purchase of kegs from party stores to promote the goodness of the beer along with the goodness to the Earth.

Say Jill! Bamboo makes extremely durable, soft and thirsty towels too!!!

I could use a fly new collection of beach towels! (the bachelor I am uses beach towels in the bathroom...kitchen...anywhere, including pool & ocean side) [o;

A gust-buster style beach umbrella on a sharpened staub with a hinge in the bamboo staub to adjust its angle would be soooo sweet! Maybe put each of the beer godesses going around the perimeter of the hemp gust buster sun shade !!!
