Monday, July 25th marked the third annual Dogfish Co-Worker Ice Cream Social Networking Event at the Brewery. Co-workers took a few moments from their work to enjoy a scrumpdillyicious Beach Bear Float. A big Dogfish thanks to Alison who brews our special blend of non-alcoholic beach beer at the Pub, and Jason who sent over growlers filled to the brim with the sweet soda sensation! Thanks to them, Cindy, Paige and I were able to put our soda jerking skills to the test and delight co-workers with a cool summertime treat during one of the hottest days of this season.

Katrinka (you know her best as one of the stars of the hit Discovery Channel show Brew Masters) and Steve, two of our dog-fan-fish-tastic Quality peeps, stopped by for a long awaited taste of the all natural vanilla ice cream and beach beer sensation. Katrinka could hardly control her excitement! Steve, excited as well, has a tad bit more restraint, but commented off camera that his float was exceptionally good! Looking forward to next years event, this is Big Mama saying stay cool like us!
That sounds absolutely dogfishlicious! Big Mama is thinking that would be a fabulous treat after a big Thanksgiving dinner! Have to remember that one and will definitely share with all the DFH co-workers. Thanks so much for sharing.
You're blogging now? Where do you find the time? Anyway, I wanted to pass along a recipe for "Punkin Floats" that we're itching to try again this fall.
Cinnamon Whipped Cream
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups vanilla ice cream (8 scoops)
2 bottles of Punkin
3-4 gingersnaps, crushed
In a bowl mixer with a whisk attachment, whip the cream, sugar and cinnamon until they form stiff peaks. Scoop the ice cream into 4 highball glasses and add half a bottle of beer to each glass. Top with the whipped cream and crushed gingersnaps. Drink up!
Of course, if you're like me and milk makes your tummy rumble, you can sub in vanilla frozen yogurt and whip the cinnamon into some cool whip for a similar treat.
