I have allergies ... Can I still drink Dogfish Head beer?

Print this PageSend to friend

We often get questions about allergies, special diets and more in relation to our beers, so here are the answers to some of the more frequently asked questions of that nature ...

A few of our ales have wheat in the recipe ...Palo Santo Marron, Festina Peche, Red & White, Black & Blue and Pangaea.

We do not currently brew any gluten-free beers.

We are not certified organic.

Our brewing process uses no animal or fish derived products.

Enjoy and Cheers!

Adding my voice to the mix for a request for Gluten Free beer!

I also watched "Beer Wars" and Sam was by far the hero of that film. Way to go!

Me too!  There are too few gluten-free beers available, and I'd just love to try some of your historical recipes -- if only they could be done without the barley. :P

Do you use Irish Moss or some other type of seaweed in your Raison D'Etre?  I had a bottle recently and it had a faint smell of either fish of seaweed

Gluten Free! Gluten Free! Gluten Free!

If anyone can make a GF beer that doesn't taste like urine, it's Sam.

Sincerely,

One Sad Celiac

I have heard of a new beer with soy in it. that DFH is making.  I have allergies to dairy, tree nuts, and soy protein...none of which have ever been major problem with beer however this new one may be the one.

What exactly is the soy ingredient?

PLEASE make a gluten free beer! I got all excited reading about your selections, especially the Midas Touch, in the Smithsonian article. How disappointing that I can try none of the elixirs extolled.

Adding to the other comments for a gluten free beer. I was recently diagnosed with celiacs and would love it if you guys would make a gluten free beer. I am a home brewer myself and I'm currently deciding which alternative method to use. I haven't found a sorghum beer that I like so I'm going to try buckwheat. If you guys won't reconsider making a gluten free beer at this time, what gluten free grain do you think would yield the most flavor?

Thanks, a dogfish fan that will miss your beer.
