The year was 2002. Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione found an old steel feed bin along the road and asked a few co-workers to DIY it into a small pot still. We called it Frankenstill. Frank for short.
Frank taught us a lot. He helped us make a small but off-centered mark on the spirits world, and our brewpub guests got a taste of the goodness.
Now, with a new state-of-the-art distillery, a veteran distiller and a handcrafted ethos, we’ve expanded our distilling program with the launch of a 100% scratch-made spirits line.
We put our American-made copper stills smack in the middle of our Milton campus, giving Head Distiller Graham Hamblett access to the same quality ingredients, brewing expertise and top-of-the-line equipment used to make our off-centered ales.
Our new spirits – Analog Vodka, Compelling Gin and Whole Leaf Gin – are now available throughout Delaware, with more states on the horizon. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for a list of retailers.
Don’t worry … Frank isn’t retired just yet. He’s still producing a few local favorites such as Brown Honey Rum and Peanut Butter Vodka, available at our Rehoboth Beach brewpub.
