Eataly Store Open, Brewpub On The Way

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Eataly, the 50,000 square foot mecca of Italian food opened in NYC earlier this week and you can hardly read a food blog without hearing all about it (warning: do not read any of them on an empty stomach!).

The rooftop brewpub which we're involved in isn't open yet, but we were at the opening in beer! Pouring at the media opening, our gal Elizabeth reports that the store is simply amazing. The beer section has a great selection of Dogfish beers and while sampling Elizabeth said, "the best is that I would hear a long burst of Italian words, then "Dogfish...grazie mille."' We couldn't have said it better! Here are some sexy beer shots from the opening...

Birreria, the brewpub is slated to open later this fall (promo poster inside the store is pictured below). Turns out, building a brewery on a rooftop in downtown New York has a lot of moving parts, and takes a bit longer than anticipated. We're having fun working with the Eataly team and the other contributing breweries on the house recipes. The Eataly house brewer Brooks has been training at Baladin, Birra del Borgo and Dogfish.

We're all looking forward to the Birreria opening! Stay tuned.
